An Encanto Celebration on the Disney Magic

¡Hola Casita! Celebrate the wonder and excitement of Encanto on the Disney Magic with music, dance, and more during 'An Encanto Celebration'. This is a 40-minute interactive experience where guests can immerse themselves in the world of Encanto and have the opportunity to meet and interact with Mirabel and Bruno.

An Encanto Celebration Logo

'An Encanto Celebration' is a new experience now offered exclusively on the Disney Magic. On most sailings, the celebration will be available on a select day, usually the day at sea, with two opportunities to attend. For example, 'An Encanto Celebration' was held on the day at sea with showings at 2 pm and 4 pm for the 5-Night Bahamian Cruise we were on. The event takes place in the D-Lounge located on Deck 4, Midship. The event is free and does not require reservations, however, I do recommend getting there early in case it reaches capacity.

Tip: Arrive 15 - 20 minutes early at the port side entrance of the D-Lounge for the best opportunity to secure a seat near the stage.

As you enter the D-Lounge, you are greeted by beautiful garlands of flowers strewn across the ceilings, vibrant tabletop covers reminiscent of patterns from the movie, and a stage showcasing a tapestry of the Madrigal Family with both Antonio's and Abuela's doors flanking the sides. The bar was also open, and a selection of drinks was available for purchase at an additional cost.

'An Encanto Celebration' in the D-Lounge

At each table, there were supplies and instructions to complete two Encanto-themed crafts while waiting for the event to start. These included a string butterfly similar to the one found on Mirabel's shirt and a tissue paper flower that could rival Isabella's collection. The difficulty level for these crafts was easy and something most young kids could complete with or without the help of an adult. I have included photos of the instructions for the crafts below if you would like to make them at home!

Once the experience started, we were greeted by the entertainment team who kicked off the event with some Encanto trivia. On the screens above, multiple choice questions about the film were displayed and the entertainment team asked the audience to shout out the answers. The entertainment team then invited the kids to participate in the first of three sing-a-longs. In between the sing-a-longs, the entertainment team asked more trivia questions about the film and its characters.

The first song was The Family Madrigal, and kids were welcome to join the entertainment team onstage to sing along and bang the set of drums they had to the beat of the music. The second song was everyone's favorite, We Don't Talk About Bruno, with another opportunity for kids to join onstage and act as a choir. The third and final song was Surface Pressure with the entertainment team teaching a short snippet of choreography.

Mirabel and Bruno Dancing Onstage

The event wrapped up with a dance around the room to Colombia, Mi Encanto. As both kids and adults sashayed around the D-Lounge, Mirabel and Bruno made their grand (surprise) entrance to join in on the celebration. Families were then asked to form a line to meet and take photos with Mirabel and Bruno with chaos ensuing for a couple of minutes as people started to organize.

Note: There was no Photopass Photographer in attendance so make sure you have your camera and autograph books ready to go. Both Mirabel and Bruno had attendants with them who were happy to take photos and videos during my interaction when I politely asked.

The one thing I will mention is that the line was quite long, and the characters had meaningful interactions with each guest so make sure to pack your patient pants and plan on waiting if you end up towards the back of the line. I was the second to last guest to meet with Mirabel and Bruno and waited about 45 minutes. Another thing to note is they do not cut off the line as they do during normal character appearances. Any guest in attendance during the event will have the chance to meet with them regardless of how long it takes to cycle through the line. Personally, I thought the wait was worth it as this was my first opportunity to meet both Mirabel and Bruno (together no less!) and the character interaction went past the basic hug, photo, and exit. Another plus was having the decorated D-Lounge including the Los Madrigal Mural as a background for photos.

Is 'An Encanto Celebration' Worth It?

Mirabel and Bruno Meet and Greet

The 'An Encanto Celebration' is a must-do for any families with young children or those wanting to meet Mirabel and Bruno. This experience definitely catered towards families with younger children as many of the interactive elements consisted of kids coming up to the stage to sing and dance along to the songs of Encanto. In addition, the amount of time and quality of interaction you get with Mirabel and Bruno makes the event noteworthy on its own. If you have older children or are a party of adults, the lack of participation might be a deciding factor to pass on the event.

If you would like to skip the event, but still want to meet Mirabel and Bruno, there were two more scheduled times during the sailing to meet them as a regular character experience.
