Are you a current Disney Visa Cardmember? The Disney Visa Character Experience is one of the many member benefits included with your Disney Visa Card. This benefit includes special Disney Parks Photo Opportunities at the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts. Pose with your favorite pals and receive complimentary downloads of your photos.
The Disney Parks Photo Opportunities are private locations at the Disney Parks for cardmembers to access and pose for photos with select Disney Characters. Simply stop by at the location reserved just for Cardmembers for a photo opportunity. Guests must present a valid Disney Visa Card for entry, and each card member can bring up to 5 guests with them. Again, guests must present a valid Disney Visa Card for entry.
Tip: You can present your card via Apple Wallet or Google Wallet to the cast member without having to fumble through your bag for the physical card. However, I do recommend having the physical card on hand just in case.
Since these locations are reserved for card members, you can experience shorter wait times to meet some of your favorite Disney characters. Plus, you will receive complimentary photo downloads! The PhotoPass Photographers will scan your park ticket or magic band and the photos will be automatically uploaded to your My Disney Experience shortly after to view and download free of charge. This is the perfect opportunity to get those professional shots without having to purchase any PhotoPass package.
There are currently two locations at the Walt Disney World Resort where you can take advantage of this perk: one next to the Imagination! Pavilion at EPCOT and one located in Star Wars Launch Bay at Hollywood Studios. These locations are open daily, but hours may vary so make sure to check online for the day you are visiting.

Disney Visa Cardmember Photo Opportunity at EPCOT
Location: Near the Imagination! Pavilion, EPCOT
Hours: 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (hours may vary)
While at EPCOT, head over to the Imagination! Pavilion and locate the building next to the attraction entrance for the Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival. Here you will find the Disney Visa Cardmember Photo Opportunity where you can meet and greet with your favorite Disney friends.
This is by far one of my must-do's while at EPCOT. Not only is the photo backdrop absolutely stunning, but you will get the chance to meet, not one, but TWO characters at the same time. Who you will meet is sometimes a mystery, but word on the block is Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Pluto have been known to frequent these spots!
Disney Visa Cardmember Star Wars Photo Opportunity at Disney's Hollywood Studios
Location: Star Wars Launch Bay inside Animation Courtyard, Disney's Hollywood Studios
Hours: 11:00 am to 4:00 pm (hours may vary)
Beware of the Dark Side! Over at Hollywood Studios, you can venture over to the Star Wars Launch Bay in the Animation Courtyard and present your Disney Visa Card for an exclusive Star Wars Photo Opportunity. Here, we were able to embrace our dark sides with a meet and greet with the ultimate Sith lord himself, Darth Vader. This location can be a little difficult to track down due to its location and lack of signage so don't hesitate to reach out for assistance from the cast member positioned at the Star Wars Launch Bay entrance.
Our last experience was a prime example of the benefit of using this card member perk. Separate from the Disney Visa Experience, Darth Vader also greets guests in another location of Star Wars Launch Bay. At the time, the standby line to meet him was 20 minutes, however, the area reserved for the Disney Visa Experience had no wait and we immediately walked right up to meet Lord Vader!
Is It Worth It?
If you are a Disney Visa Cardholder, I highly recommend taking advantage of this perk. Not only will you experience short or virtually no wait times for high-quality character experiences, but you will also receive complimentary photo downloads.
