One aspect of runDisney that makes the races so magical is the tradition of runners showing off their best Disney-inspired running costumes on the course. Some go bold with elaborate outfits and full-sized props while others prefer a simple nod to a character, attraction, movie, or theme. For example, you might see a sea of purple and green during Marathon Weekend for those completing the Dopey Challenge. My outfit for the first race of the weekend was pixie-perfect! Using the Pixie Flyer athletic top from Crowned Athletics, inspired by Tinkerbell herself, the other aspects of the outfit fell into place. After extensive searching, I found a pair of athletic skorts that matched the top almost exactly. The wings I purchased did not light up, but since the race would take place before dawn, I hand-sewed a string of LED battery lights along the profile of the wings. The wand I 3D-printed myself.

Heigh-Ho! Heigh-Ho! It's off to run we go! My next running outfit was my absolute favorite, and I had a ton of fun with it. Reusing the Pixie Flyer Athletic Top from Crowned Athletics, I ditched the fairy wings and added a Santa Belt to morph into Dopey, one of the hosts for the race weekend. As a nod to the gemstone scene in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, I purchased plastic, rounded glasses, sanded and spray-painted them silver, and super-glued teal rhinestones around the rims. Lastly, I purchased a purple bucket hat and hand-sewn multi-colored rhinestones around the band of the hat.

It was not the running outfit I had planned on, but certainly a fashionable backup. Due to the projected forecast of rain, I decided to wear my backup outfit that would be reliable in the rain. My Snow White-inspired outfit paired the Crowned Athletics Enchanted Rose pieces with the Fairest Heart Athletic Top. To complete the look, I added a clip-on red bow to my ponytail.

This was my first marathon so for my outfit I went with tried-and-true clothing I knew I would be comfortable in. This included the Golden Dreamer Princess Sports Bra and Athletic Skort from Crowned Athletics to provide enough support and coverage to prevent chafing. Similarly, I chose a lightweight tee from Etsy with a cute Dopey design. For the marathon, I needed more storage than the skort pockets to hold my fuel and water/Gatorade, so I wore the AiRun Tech Hydration Running Belt from Amazon. It offered plenty of storage yet compact. While running, the belt stayed in place, and the padding on the backside acted as a cushion. Most of the time, I hardly realized it was on me!
